As the SOFLA sun celebrates the time of its highest radiance, there was no better time to celebrate fishing at what is sure to be the Bahama's largest ownership/rental/hotel resort destination:

I've recently returned from a gem of a destination, El Pescador Lodge and Villas. It is located in Ambergris Caye, Belize. Getting there is simple — most any major American city that serves as a hub should fly to Belize City. From there either you-or the lodge- can arrange for your scenic seventeen minute flight to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye to the north. The two airlines that do transfer flights are Tropic Air or Mayan Air.

All anglers and outdoors folks hold a special fascination for islands.

Keeping things straight to the record, the Virgin Islands area is not exactly Bonefish Central. There are two islands that have viable fisheries that have sizeable inland salinas — or saltponds.

As flats fishing has exploded into a global fishery, there's many exciting species sight-cast, caught and released in knee-deep water.

The largest and least-explored island in the Bahamas, Andros offers a wide variety of reel screaming action! Andros is by far the largest island in the Bahamian archipelago. The Island measures over 40 miles from east to west and more than 100 miles from north to south.

It was finally in the winter of 2008 that I was able to realize my dreams of traveling to the Argentine Patagonia region to fly fish for brown and rainbow trout.

Gamboa Rainforest Resort stands at the juncture of the historic Chagres River and the vast Panama Canal. This places it in the midst of a lush jungle habitat with an enticing array of gamefish.

My travel plans to the Yucatan — especially Quintana Roo State, which includes the stretch from Cancun south to Belize — have never been clouded by personal concerns about the crime or violence so heavily reported about in Mexico.
