I've been out a couple times seen sign no birds or calling. any tips to further verify the birds presence?
Unless you know where they tend to hang out, I usually spot em when I'm out doing my deer scouting or just driving around. I try and take different routes home everyday if I can and normally I hear them early in the mornings. I'm sure there are probably better ways and certainly would be open to suggestions.

The area I can get tags for is 90 mi. I do drive this for work occasionally. That's how I got onto birds in the first place. I figured out where they went in winter stress. other than sign knowing the turkeys are there I have been unable to get a visual or hear any talk. From tracks in mud and droppings I know they are coming back into home summer range. Maybe I'm getting too anxious or SAD's and cabin fever have effected my feeble mind. I'm optimistic "every thing is going to be alright!"

I have been there twice since last post. There are plenty of tracks and droppings no talking at shock call. I am down to the opening soon April 5 and I believe will be able to go a day before, I'll Listen and glass and see if I might roost a group. Appreciate the input I'm sure not many out there have my mileage dilemma. Best of good fortune in your turkey pursuit to all who have responded and all those that took a look!
